Do Facebook Ads Still Work? (2023)
The short answer? Yes.
The long answer? Here we go…
Let’s start with some pretty impressive data relating to Facebook/Instagram usage (Hootsuite):
Facebook.com is the third-most-visited website in the world, and Facebook is the 2nd-most-used global app based on total usage time
67% of monthly users are active daily
More than 72% of Facebook users also use YouTube, WhatsApp, and Instagram
70% of American adults use Facebook
54.9% of Facebook users follow or research brands and products on the platform
Facebook Ads is one of the most popular and effective ways to reach your target audience. Here are some reasons why Facebook Ads are essential for businesses:
Massive Audience Reach: As you can see from the above stats, your audience potential on Facebook is huge. Facebook has over 2.8 billion monthly active users, making it the largest social media platform. This means that your target audience is likely using Facebook regularly, making it easier for you to target them with your ads.
Highly Targeted Advertising: Facebook allows you to target specific demographics, interests, behaviors, and locations to ensure that your ads are shown to the people who are most likely to be interested in your product or service. This level of precision ensures that your ads are seen by the people who matter. Do you need to target a 25-35 female who shops at Target, runs marathons, is a mom and lives in Vero Beach, Florida? You can certainly do that!
Cost-Effective: Facebook Ads are cost-effective, even for small businesses with limited budgets. You can set your daily budget for each campaign, which means can control your spending. Want to start with $5 a day? You can. Of course I have daily spend recommendations, but my point is that it is very flexible in terms of what you want to spend on ads.
Measurable Results: Facebook Ads provide measurable results, allowing you to track the success of your campaigns. You can see how many people have seen your ad, how many have clicked through to your website, how many have made a purchase and much more. By having all this data at your fingers, you can quickly make informed decisions about future campaigns. For example, I can determine if an ad is performing well or not for a client within 2-3 days. If it is doing well, great, time to ramp up spending. If it’s not, no problem, time to come up with another ad variation to test. Which leads me to my next point…
Retargeting Ads Potential: Once you find an audience and ad that works, the Facebook pixel will be tracking all those clicks to your website (or sign-ups, purchases, etc). Then, you can run retargeting ads in the future. Retargeting ads allow you to run Facebook ads to anyone who has clicked the ad and landed on your website. These people are now your “warm” audience, because they have clearly expressed interest in your product or service. There are so many retargeting ad options…you can run Facebook ads to anyone who has added to cart, or purchased, or top 50% of website viewers, and much more.
As you can see, running Facebook ads is so much more than creating an ad and clicking publish. Facebook provides you with SO much data, and different options, that I believe anyone can be successful in promoting their business with Facebook ads.
By using Facebook Ads, businesses can reach their target audience, increase brand awareness, and drive sales.
So, long story short, yes Facebook ads still work (in 2023) :)
